Sense For Horses - Image Clip

Philosophy

Here I would like to begin with a quote from Tibet:
The horse is the breath, the rider is the thought.

We love horses and working with them. Working with them teaches us humility and it mirrors us to the highest degree. All in all, a lot of this may sound highly spiritual to you. Be assured that we are not in an esoteric dreamworld, but rather we find ourselves with both legs in the reality of everyday life. Accordingly, the objective is to meet the performance requirements of human and horse, break down barriers and overcome challenges in a highly efficient, sustainable and successful manner! Rational and emotional success is the aim of our applied methodology to bring the horse close to the rider and the rider close to his horse in a violence-free manner. All types of "plans" are to work out and the needs as well as ambitions for success are satisfied appropriately for both parties.
A wonderful team with highly trained riders, riding instructors for a variety of requirements and loving carers forms the basis for the daily break-in and our holistic work with horses and riders. This philosophy and the corresponding quality are also reflected in each of our horses for sale.

Portfolio

Work and training of horse and riders

Our work and training of riders and horses cover the following range:

Domestication and violence-free break-in (min. 2 months)
Perfecting dressage lessons – targeted training (mental and physical) along with corresponding muscle development of horse and rider
Perfecting and studying/execution of show lessons and circus lessons without pressure – targeted training (mental and physical) along with muscle development of horse and rider
"Resetting" after traumas (refusal to jump after fall, traffic accident, refusal to get on trailers, etc.)
Increasing and aligning the horse's willingness to perform in horse jumping, dressage and show riding
Methodical ground exercises as a means of training and communication
Horse and rider as a familiar unit: sure-footed, free of fear, no problem with trailers – together over and through each obstacle

Work with the human – The horse as a mirror

The following topics are dealt with in individualised or group seminars with renowned professional teachers of the relevant fields:

Personality and impact – how do I impact on others?
Management style or stylish management? My team's performance is my mirror!
Successful team management and motivation – how do I feel about myself?
Manager burnout – I would like to feel myself again so as to show others the way as a manager.
The topics of self-respect, self-love, self-positioning and overcoming grief are dealt with in single sessions only, unless seminar dates with a specialised therapist have been announced on the website for this. One of our stallions will assume a role from approximately the third session. This role is defined on an individual basis. Transformatively or as an undistorted mirror of where I stand and where my personal areas for improvement are. How do I see myself? Do others see me and how? How do I become happy and sound? Pain as an opportunity! We look forward to each trip together and we give you a warm welcome.

Horses for sale

Stud farm and guest house

Stud farm

If we want to be motivated and ready to perform, we must feel good! That is the case with horses just as much as with humans. Our stud farm is a lovingly and elaborately renovated estate from the 17th century in the middle of the countryside. At the moment our horses are in a training center in Starnberg, where they learn a lot and feel very comfortable.

Our stable is right beside the residence and the guesthouse. It is equipped with spacious stalls that have a specially poured hospital rubber floor that is hygienic, warm, noise-proof and dry. Embedded in wheat straw and its own large paddock on the south side, each horse can make friends and find fresh air, freedom to move about or retreat.

A horse shower with warm water and an infrared solarium ensure relaxation and the well-deserved wellness programme after extensive rides or training units.

We give scrupulous attention to individualised diet plans with an organic foundation. Our organic hay is exclusively from the late first cut in order to ensure an optimum protein supply. Every morning, the oats are freshly crushed, the carrots are grated and the minerals, oils and prebiotic food supplements are selected and added to the feed, depending on the time of year and the horse's needs.

Guest house

Embedded in the middle of the countryside, less than a minute away from your horse, you find your very own space to review the experiences in peace.

Our fairy godmothers indulge you with cuisine, while you leave all your cares or come really close to your soul. A fireplace in your own lodge with a glass of wine or a book at sunset on your own terrace give you the atmosphere to relax.

In the guesthouse, a fully equipped kitchen with a Nespresso coffee machine is available to you as well as a fireplace, a double bed, a dining table and a living room with a flatscreen TV. The bathroom, a storage room with a clothing store and your own terrace offer luxury and the feeling of being at home. More Information, please see: http://gut-vatersham.com

A sauna session in the evening or time spent in the pool with a view of the stables and paddocks offers relaxation and closeness to your horse. You have surely already read about it: therapy, training or performance optimisation for sports horses begins, of course, with the horse – but it always ends with the human. Whether you only come to one seminar without a horse, take circus lessons, visit or bring your horse – enjoy your break. We want you to feel good as well.

About me

Sensitiveness, gentleness, attentiveness and willingness to give something for others is not a one-way street. Horses – my great teachers.

A deep love binds me to horses. At the age of 4, I began to do equestrian vaulting. At the age of 6, enthused by the gracefulness of traditional dressage and free show lessons, I started to do horse riding. A key event when I was 12 led to the start of my work with horses. Neither my career as an entrepreneur in the media industry nor the role that was dear to me - being a mum - has ever kept me away from my horses or those entrusted to me for more than a few days.

Do not dream about what your life could be like, but live your dream…
My desire to experience the horse and the rider as an intercommunicating unit is now reflected in the portfolio of Sense for Horses.
My methodology for treating and healing horses with behavioural and mental disorders - and who are thus often physically ill - begins with the horse, but mostly ends with the rider. We would be happy to take your horse in and work with it. You too are sure to want to stay for a while - on the second visit at the latest - at the cosy guesthouse and begin a journey to yourself.
Every horse I work with and get to know shows me that your horse is your mirror. The horse entrusted to you at this moment, your horse, with all its difficulties, aggressions or fears, is always exactly the right one for you!
You decide where our journey takes us: whether you want to play an active part or be an observer.
I look forward to getting to know you and your horse and to working with you in accordance with your wishes for yourself and your horse.

Kind regards
Claudia Schwarz

Team

  • Alvaro Mayo Serrano

The rider, trained in traditional and circus dressage, deals with the horses in an excellent manner, calmly and gently.
He trains riders and horses at the highest level, from circus lessons to S dressage.
His holistic understanding of the physiognomy and morphology of the horse is reflected in his extremely efficient manner of training.

  • Katharina Birkenholz

Katharina Birkenholz was already fascinated by equestrian sports in earliest childhood and has remained loyal to this passion to this very day.  The longstanding member of the dressage perspective squad of the German Olympic Equestrian Committee (DOKR) celebrated numerous national and international successes with her Baden-Württemberg gelding “Don Androsso”.  Great respect and the attention to the natural needs of horses are of great importance to her. With her talent, her experience at the highest level and the aspiration for realistic work, Katharina creates close partnerships with satisfied, healthy horses and therefore the basis for long-term success. If you observe her working with horses you see the shine in her eyes as well as a gentle smile with every minor success. This tells anyone who looks closer that there is much more than just work here. This is love and respect four our four-legged partners.

  • Stefanie Sommerer

Before we turn to conventional medicine, we always seek the holistic approach. Our good soul Stefanie Sommerer is responsible for this. The animal healer and physiotherapist educated at the Akademie für Tiernaturheilkunde (Academy for Animal Naturopathy) in Munich is our specialist in the field of traditional homoeopathy and further areas of therapeutic focus such as acupuncture, phytotherapy and physiotherapy.
